Lighting
Lighting is one of the most crucial aspects of superb video. Without it normal image capture can not take place. Videography which in all actuality is motion photography. Photography means painting with light. Believe it or not this is one area that the client (bride,groom,etc.) can make the difference in the picture quailty of their video. How? By allowing the videographer to have ample lighting. Does that mean bring in hot studio lights with scrims and cookies? No. Usually the on location lights will suffice. Other adjustments if necessary can be made with camera controls. Make no mistake about it whoever covers your ceremony will have to have adequate lighting to get images, unless dark silhouette images, are what your looking for. We never use auxiliary lighting at the ceremony. It would be out of place,obtrusive and most clergy do not allow it. This along with audio checks and placement of the attendants is the primary reasons we attend the rehearsal. This is the time we discuss and finalize these particular parameters, so we will be all set to go when ceremony time arrives.
At the reception we do utilize on camera lights. Many times the ambient lighting is set for romance, which is natural and understandable, however to get the first dance, the cake cutting, and other formalities acceptably,sometimes we have to add a little to get the footage.
We know its a balancing act when it comes to lighting with a wedding and reception. We apply light when we need it, however we also remember that your ceremony and reception is not a Hollywood Production. We will act judiciously and in moderation.

Here at Video Treasures, since our inception in 1989, we have strived to be as invisible and unobtrusive as possible while covering a ceremony. We hold the belief that all eyes belong on the bride and that she does not need to compete with high tech gadgets when she is walking down the ailse. We come to rehearsal, (up to 30 miles from our studio) scope out a position for our camera's, on wedding day turn them on just prior to the ceremony and thus no distracting camera people to have to "mix" in with the attendents. We use small high tech camera's developed for wedding videography and they blend in well with the usual wedding and floral furnishings.

No two brides are exactly alike and that also applies to their weddings. This is one of the main reasons we do not have standard packages. We let you decide what you want and don't want in your video coverage. Most brides begin by choosing the ceremony coverage, usually two or three cameras and if they want a mobile ailse camera to cover mothers, grandmothers, attendants, groom and the all important bride and escort walking down the main ailse. Once that's decided then reception coverage can be determined, usually this is a matter of deciding how long we need to be there. After this you can select any additional add-ons that may appeal to you,such as a growing up photo montage to open the video, candid or interactive prewedding coverage, or maybe and acted out skit or spoof to add fun to your coverage. As previously stated we realize all weddings are different and we want to fill your needs and desires concerning wedding videography.
